WELCOME TO PINE CREEK REGULALED

Helping clients retrain their brains in order to alleviate suffering, emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Throughout my teens and college years, I struggled with chronic pain, fainting, and other symptoms I didn’t fully understand. Years later, I discovered Dr. John Sarno’s work and Steven Ray Ozanich’s book, The Great Pain Deception. Learning about the brain’s role in chronic pain changed how I understood my symptoms and became an important part of my own healing.

That experience eventually led me to Pain Reprocessing Therapy and the work I do today. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I help people understand the protective patterns that can keep the brain and nervous system stuck in pain or threat. I work primarily with chronic pain, trauma, anxiety, nervous-system dysregulation, and relationship concerns, drawing from PRT, somatic approaches, EMDR, Lifespan Integration, and IFS.

My goal is to combine research, practical tools, and genuine connection to help people feel safer in their bodies and relationships—and more able to move toward the lives they want.

I believe therapy can be a place of return — a sacred space of reconnection with the authentic spark that lives within you. Perhaps that essential self has been obscured through pain, self-doubt, chronic symptoms, or trauma. My hope is to walk alongside you as you gently reconnect with who you truly are, through compassion and curiosity.

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor-in-training at the University of Utah, drawn to experiential and somatic work, including Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Core Self Reclamation Therapy, mindfulness, multicultural counseling, and CBT.

My own experiences with chronic pain and autoimmune conditions have deepened my understanding of how frightening and isolating it can feel to live in a body that no longer feels safe. Through both my training in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and my own healing, I have come to understand how pain, along with chronic conditions, can begin to soften as we learn to meet the body with greater care.

Before becoming a clinician, I spent many years as a documentary filmmaker and performer, and that background continues to shape how I work in session, with deep curiosity and reverence for the complexity of each person’s story. My hope is that our work together helps you feel less alone, more rooted in your core self, and more able to move toward healing with courage and fierce love.

Dr. Tyler Burton

Tyler Burton, DPT, is a physical therapist and nervous system coach specializing in chronic pain and other persistent symptoms. He helps clients understand how the brain and nervous system influence pain, reconnect with their bodies, and build greater confidence in movement.

Drawing from pain science, neuroplasticity, and nervous-system regulation, Tyler offers practical tools to help clients feel safer in their bodies and respond differently to symptoms. His approach is grounded, encouraging, and focused on helping people move toward greater freedom and participation in their lives.

Therapeutic Approach

At Pine Creek, we believe many of the patterns that leave us feeling stuck began as the brain and body’s attempt to protect us. Pain, anxiety, depression, trauma responses, obsessive thoughts, and difficult relationship patterns aren’t signs that you’re broken. They are real experiences shaped by a nervous system doing its best to respond to what it has learned.

Therapy isn’t about fighting or shaming these responses. It’s about understanding why they developed, helping the nervous system recognize what is safe now, and creating new ways of responding.

We use neuroscience-informed, mind-body, and relational approaches to help clients develop greater understanding, regulation, connection, and choice.

The brain and nervous system can change throughout our lives.

With the right support and repeated experiences of safety, patterns that once felt automatic can begin to shift.
